What is the FSSC 22000 standard?
FSSC 22000 (Version 5) is a comprehensive certification scheme that cover businesses across the food chain, except for primary plant material production. It is recognizes by GFSI and combines-mainly-the requirements of ISO 22000:2018 and the technical standards of the ISO organization (ISO/TS 22002 series) regarding the prerequisites (PRPs) concerning the rules of good industial and hygienic practice, of the respective sector (food manufacturing, catering, animal farming, food packafing, logistics, brokering, bio-chemicals, etc.).
It is noted that this scheme clearly defines the specifications and requirements of various sectors of the production process, in order to meet the prerequisites.
